Good things come to those who wait. The shipyard Degerö Yachtbau GmbH, based in Fahrdorf on the Schlei, took almost four years to develop the new Scangaard 26 Classic after the initial concept sketches. Now the first boat is nearing completion. The concept of the 26 takes up the essential design features of its smaller sister Scangaard 21 (test in YACHT 20/2008). The new boat is also a long keeler with an attached rudder blade. The traditional lines are also emphasised by the pronounced positive deck leap and the classic spoon bow.

The daysailer, which is just over eight metres long, primarily offers a very spacious and comfortable cockpit for up to six people. The standard sails with mainsail and self-tacking jib can only be operated from the cockpit. Depending on the area, the owner can choose between an outboard motor, electric inboard motor or a 13 hp built-in diesel from Volvo Penta. With a total weight of 1.7 tonnes, the boat is still easy to trailer on the road, and the central hot eye makes it easy to crane in and out.

In contrast to the small Scangaard 21, the 26er offers full touring comfort below deck with a total of four berths. Optionally, a separate toilet room can even be partitioned off or a simple cooking facility added.

The first construction numbers of the Scangaard 26 are currently being launched in close co-operation with the newly founded SQ Freienohl GmbH & Co KG at the site of the former Dehler shipyard. The new boat can then be trial sailed on the Schlei in early summer. The base price for the ready-to-sail boat is 59,500 euros, with a Volvo inboard engine the price is 69,900 euros, including VAT.
